America Is a Heartbeat Away From War
The United States, like many nations, is involved in various international engagements, some of which draw controversy and concern.
In March 2024, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported a total of 189,372 encounters along the southwest border of the United States. This figure includes both U.S. Border Patrol encounters between official ports of entry and individuals who presented themselves at ports of entry, some of whom held appointments through the CBP One™ system.
The reported encounters in March contribute to an ongoing rise in the number of individuals seeking entry into the United States, which has surpassed one million for the current year.
This total only accounts for documented encounters and does not include individuals who may have crossed the border undetected.
During my recent visit to the border, observations indicated that tens of thousands of individuals were awaiting the opportunity to enter the U.S., with expectations that these numbers could increase as the election period approaches.
